Making the decision to start a business can be an exciting, scary, thrilling and overwhelming process. It’s kind of like the decision to become a parent, it never “feels” like the right time, but it somehow manages to be the right time when it happens. For me, the decision to start my business came with a little help from a coach.
First off, I didn’t just Google the word “coach” and select the first person that I came across. My first coach was someone I had chatted in an online forum I was part of. I “knew” her online and felt comfortable asking her…”I need some help deciding what to be now that I’m grown up!” We had a 30 minute consultation and my question about how I could be an entrepreneur was answered, and I decided it was time to start my own business as a Virtual Assistant.
In the course of the last year I’ve worked with three different coaches, and have learned something from all of them. But the biggest lesson I’ve learned that it’s worth it to ask for help. With the structured guidance and support of a coach I’ve learned so much about myself and about creating a business. It has made all the difference for me; see what a coach can do for you!
