Tropicana Juicy Rewards Review: Columbus Zoo (0 comments)

April 30th, 2010: As an ambassador for Tropicana’s Juicy Rewards program, I was so excited to try out of some the great rewards that they offer. I knew that I wasn’t able to get through this program without using one of the entertainment discount. The next reward that I used was to get a discount for the Zoo.

With the weather as great as it’s been, I thought why not take a trip to the Columbus Zoo. The kids and I had been itching to get out and do something fun for a long time coming. So, my Mom and I loaded up the kids and took them to the zoo. The forecast for the day was kind of cool and set at about 60 degrees but by the time we got there, it was about 70 degrees. Perfect weather for the zoo.

I actually had check my Tropicana Juicy Rewards that morning and had found they had $1 off per adult discounts for 1 point. That was like getting  $2 off for a portion of a carton of OJ. So off we went for our fun filled adventure at the zoo!

The first place that we went once we were inside the gates of the zoo was over to the Petting Zoo. This was one of Luci’s favorite parts of the day because she got to touch and brush the goats! She even got to see chickens and sheep. This year’s trip to the zoo was much more entertaining because she understood what was going on while we were there and even searched for the animals.

Many of the animals were sleeping since we had gotten there fairly early, but by lunchtime they were all up and fiesty! The monkeys were especially entertaining jumping around from rope to rope and drawing a big crowd. We even got to see the baby elephant and he was so cute with his little tufts of hair that he still had on his head. Awww.

I think the highlight of Luci’s day was playing at the playground and riding on the carousel. I’m pretty sure she like the carousel when it was still then when it moved. Because as soon as the horses started she took a death grip to my neck. I wouldn’t have minded so much but I’m not tall enough for her to do that when the horses get at their highest. I thought when we got off she was going to talk about she didn’t like it but when we asked her what her favorite part of the day was: She replied with “Horses.” Who knows?

After 5 hours at the zoo, everyone was tuckered out and ready to head home! We stopped to get ice cream on the way and the kids napped during the 25 minute drive back to our house! They also slept great that night. Too bad the zoo isn’t free, otherwise we would go a lot more.

“I wrote this review while participating in the Tropicana Juicy Insiders Ambassador program by Mom Central on behalf of Tropicana. I received 12 free Juicy Rewards points and a $50 Visa gift card to use in redemption of the points and to facilitate my review.”
