April 27th, 2010: So, about a week ago, I decided that it was time to jump back on the healthy eating, working out bandwagon. During my second pregnancy, I was achy and sore and I know that it is because my hips were carrying extra weight on top of the baby weight that I had gained. In six months to a year, we will probably try to have our third child and I do not want a repeat of what happened last time to occur this time around. In comes the working out! I started the P90x program because I wanted to mix things up a bit and the great thing about this program is that you do a different video every day and repeat the schedule the following week. I’ve been doing this for a week, I feel great, and can do the videos at home so I don’t have to worry about child care for the kids.
Now on top of working out, I know that I’m only going to lose weight if I eat healthier. This is proven to be somewhat of a challenge because I cannot lower my calories too much because I am still nursing a baby full time. That’s why I was thrilled to be apart of this Melba Toast Blog Tour. It allowed me to get a sample of a low-calorie, low-fat snack to help my diet go in the right direction especially for summer and they taste delicious spread with Laughing Cow cheese (and a glass of wine). Ugh, bathing suits.
In order for people to start thinking about living healthy and getting active this summer, Old London created the “Dance Your Way to Hollywood” sweepstakes. One winner and a guest will win a trip to California for an all-expenses paid, dance-inspired getaway including private lessons at the 3rd Street Dance Studio and tickets to watch the taping of a popular television show. (The four-day, three-night, all-expense-paid trip will also include air travel and accommodations at a popular Hollywood hotel.) Moms can enter the sweepstakes now through June 30, 2010, at www.toastforeverydayhealth.com. Oh, I hope that they are talking about the next season of Dancing with the Stars. That would be just fantastic.
So, now it’s your time, get off that butt of yours and get moving. I know people who are trying to get fit always say, if I can do it then anyone can do it, but I’m serious. If I have the motivation to work out at 6 am every morning for the last week when I could be sleeping in my warm, snuggly bed then anyone can do it. Have a happy and healthy summer!
