I really wasn’t expecting to be sitting in front of the TV watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story today but thank God for TBS on Christmas Eve. I am also thankful for the wi-fi that I am receiving via the hospital while I sit her waiting for my baby to get rid of his RSV, otherwise I would be bored stupid and probably go completely crazy.
Today has gone pretty smoothly and they are now monitoring Jake to make sure that he can breathe on his own. Around 1pm today, the doctors made their rounds and allowed Jake to come off of his breathing tube. After a couple hours of breathing on his own, he was able to drink a bottle of pedialyte to get some other kinds of fluids in his body.
So, I went home to take a shower and spend time with my other little one. When I got home, she told me “miss me” and I felt so bad that I have to be away all day. She’s not used to me being gone so much and it’s really throwing off her schedule and of course she also recovering from a bad cold, so she needs her Mommy, too. I’m just so glad that my kids are so young that they don’t understand what Christmas is and when it actually is, so we can open presents in a couple days and it’s all good.
John and I did exchange our gifts to one another tonight. I got him a new wedding ring because he lost his original not once but twice and the second time it was gone for good. Of course, we had been talking about getting him a new one for a long time now and he even measured his own finger so that we were sure that this one wouldn’t fall off cause it was too big. Not the case, the size that he told me he was is gigantic, so now we have to take the ring back and get a new one or get it resized to be much smaller.
I’m sure many of you have read about all my complaints about my laptop and the slowness of it all. Well, my wonderful husband got me a new laptop for Christmas. Now of course I have his laptop at the hospital and my new one is at home, but that’s fine cause I don’t want it to get all hospital germy all over.
Even though, Jake and I will be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning at the hospital and I’m sad about not having my family all together. I know that it is for the best and we need to get our itty bitty baby healthy again so that in 6 or 7 years he can ask for his own Red Ryder BB Gun.
Merry Christmas To All and To All a Good Night!
