REVIEW – Craft Caravan Kids Craft Club
September 29, 2009 – Grabbing the mail yesterday was so exciting cause I reached into my mail box and what did I see but a shiny, green, metallic envelope. What is this? I ran inside to show Luci, who was enthralled by the shiny material. I promptly opened up the package to find the September Craft Project for the Kids Craft Club from Craft Caravan. In it were two different projects that would bring the fall season to life at our house. Each project comes with most materials that you would need, instructions with step by step photos and a final picture of the end result.
The first project was the Fall Leaf Craft which came with a self adhesive leaf, colored art sand and string for hanging. The great thing about this project is even though there was sand, that was the only thing that could really make a mess and we were very careful. Since Luci is still little, I did most of the work, but this project would be great for her when she is a year or two older. But she did help me swirl the sand to make different colors so that it seemed like the leaf was changing colors. At this age she loves sand and that would have been a project for her all together, but she loved the end product with the leaf looking all colorful and shiny. We hung it in her room so that she could look at it some more.
The second craft contain a project for the Harvest Moon and showed all the different phases of the moon. Luci liked this project because she got to color on the papers with the bumpy sandpaper to make it look like the surface of the moon. She also was loving the fact that it had a foam rubber star at the bottom that she could rub and touch. She liked watching me glue together all the pieces that she had colored and as best as I could to a 19 month old, I explained to her that this was the moon. I think I’ll wait till she is about 3 to fully explain how the moon works. This project included materials such as the phases of the moon shapes, sticky stars, sand paper and ribbon. When this project is finished it is very colorful and easy to hang up.
Craft Caravan has sent us great projects that would be most ideal for children ages 3-9. Kids receive a new project in a shiny envelope every month with fun facts about their project’s theme if they sign up for the Kids Craft Club.
Thanks to Keri at Craft Caravan for the opportunity to share her projects with us and we hope that you join their Kids Craft Club so that your children can experience the same fun time that we had making our Fall Crafts.
