Bargain Shoppers Unite (0 comments)

Since, I have become a SAHM (Stay at home MoM), I have become more conscious about my spending habits. Mostly, I have taken it upon my self to look for the best deals at grocery stores every week. Back in the day, when it was just John and myself, I shopped at Kroger because I like the selection and it was the closest to our house. When Luci was born, I still shopped there but I made sure to cut out coupons and get food that we needed for the week. As my husband informed me, maybe I should start shopping at Walmart because I might be able to save us even more money.

I was reluctant at first because in my head there was a certain stigma that I had reserved for shopping at Walmart. I never really went there because I never saw myself as a bargain shopper, but living on one income has forced me to learn to suck it up, use all the coupons I can find and get a good deal at our local Walmart. I will say that even though I was being a Walmart snob, I probably started saving us at least 20 dollars a week in groceries, which I can then use to buy 3 dollar cups of coffee at Starbucks. Yeah, that’s pretty much an oxy moron but I felt better that I was saving money in the long run and Moms always need to treat themselves once in a while. So while I’m shopping at Walmart dreaming of Kroger, I have to remind myself, it’s ok to be a bargain shopper!
